Downtown Festival of Trees

The second annual Downtown Festival of Trees Raffle has launched! All you need to do to buy raffle tickets is click on the “tree” logo (at left) and it will take you to the raffle ticket store. Photos of the trees will be posted as they become available.

The event runs through Tuesday, December 18th, once again in partnership with Downtown Boulder Inc. There are trees in 14 downtown locations, each themed and decorated with goodies from the participating merchants. The raffle is online now, and all proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels on Boulder. Be sure to visit each participating business to see the trees “live and in person!”

You can read more about this great event at the Meals on Wheels Boulder website.

The scrapsisters: Vacant Lot Dump

On a chilly Saturday morning, Geraldine the Dump Truck backed into a vacant lot in Boulder, Colorado. Over 60 school aged kids rushed towards the contents, like a giant piñata spilling out onto the frozen earth. For the next four hours the student artists worked alongside community leaders, CU students, and artist mentors creating art from trash. … even the snowman got spray painted!

The Dumpster Squad would like to thank the community partners who came together and helped to create the first ever Vacant Lot Dump: the scrapsisters, Tebo Development Company, McGuckin Hardware, The Dairy Center for the Arts, Growing Up Boulder, 1- 800 Got Junk, Western Disposal, re!, Scrib Coworking, Tokkers, Rick Baker Insurance, ReSource Tool Library, Morgan Creek Ventures, Riverside Building, T/aco, Laughing Goat Coffee, Mountain Sun Brewery, and Dairy Queen. The Vacant Lot Dump, creating opportunity one scrap at a time!
